Welcome to Woopra
Dear Woopra-ers? Wooprites? What are we going to call ourselves?
Anyway, on behalf of Elie Khoury, Jad Younan, myself, and the rest of the Woopra team I’d like to welcome you all to our little community! After what was intended to be a small, private beta release to 200 people at WordCamp Dallas, we’ve been experiencing extremely high demand, and are working as fast as possible to turn up capacity in order to ensure we can get an invitation to everyone.
In addition to working on the Woopra application and infrastructure, we’re finding new ways to communicate with all of you and we truly hope that you’ll take the time to talk back to us. The launch of the new Woopra Blog is an important milestone because we’ve been unable to keep up with the huge number of incoming e-mails. As a result, when we notice trends on the inbound e-mail we’ll put out notifications with updates via the blog, so please take a moment and subscribe for updates.
Equally important however, are the launch of the new Woopra Forums! Our hope is that the forums will help everyone with installation, troubleshooting, and feature requests. We’ll be manning the forums as much as possible, but we sure would appreciate it if everyone could pitch in and help us answer questions for newbies once in a while. We are really dependent on the community to step in and help us out a bit in this area.
Once again, the entire Woopra team is very excited, and we’re working around the clock to make sure we don’t waste a moment of time getting the service out to everyone who wants it! Please drop us a line with comments and encouragement. Since we’re not getting much sleep, we could use it!

Woopra is a wonderful idea. Why hasn’t anybody come up with something this silly earlier? LOL. Hoping to see how well it cracks from its shell and if it turns out to be an excellent most likely present it to my clients.
April 13th, 2008 at 1:56 am
The Idea is great! Wanted to sign in immediately so asked for an invite 11 days ago.
But… ‘The Woopra Members Area - My Websites’ says ‘Pending Approval’ from that very moment.
When will a request for an invite be answered?
Sending a question via the contact form did not trigger any reaction
Hope to get an answer though.
Keep up the great work!

Been ‘Pending Approval’ for coming up 2 weeks or so now
Any chance you can prioritise people who have been waiting? Would like e chance to see it in action.
Thx
April 14th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
@ zenoah:
The prioritizing is on a first-come, first-serve basis. We’re transitioning to larger servers and will be approving people in order that they signed up. Thanks so much for being so patient with us as we come with the overwhelming demand before we were ready to go public.
April 15th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
still ‘Pending Approval’

Re names for users: I think “Woopers” works for me.

Hi
I just saw your cool thing on Geekbrief TV. I can’t wait to try it out on my humble website. It will be good to see realtime how my traffic comes in.
April 24th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
I’m still in waiting list. Thank you for the great & superb job but I have to admit that you should be prepared for this demand in the very beginning…

Hi Guys,
Any estimate on approvals? I think I’ve been in queue for a month or more and will be delighted to give Woopra a run. Looks really great….disappointed when I check every day and see that the approvals are still pending. Thanks!
April 26th, 2008 at 8:23 pm
@ frankroche:
See the posting about Mass Approval Date Assigned! and the comments for details. We’re working as hard as we can, slowly approving requests while not overtaxing the new server system. Thanks for your patience.

Looking forward to seeing Woopra in action.
When it comes time to begin charging for your software I hope you have a tiered system in place. Consider reduced fees for educational and non-profit sites.

Woopra users: “Woopies”
April 30th, 2008 at 3:09 am
I REFUSE to call myself a “Woopie.”
At any rate, I just got my approval code, fired up the program, and was blown away. This is, by far, the BEST analytics software ever conceived. GREAT job, Woopra Team!
April 30th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
@ therogueforums:
How about “Wooper?” Woopie is taken.
Thanks for the kind words. We’re really proud of our baby. We’re working on potty training.
Be patient with us. And hang on, Woopra has some great new features coming down the pipeline.

This is the most amazing site analytics available. It is like being in a NASA Space center control room. Just like a NASA control room, I am trying to figure out what everything does. The chat feature works, as far as I can see it ALL works. Amazing. Wow. Thanks very much. Now I need to go tell everyone about Woopra.

@ GuyRCook:
Thanks, and glad to hear that your approval arrived. We’re working hard on processing the approvals as fast as we can without breaking anything.
We are so grateful to the support of Layered Technologies and 3Tera for their server support and faith in the project. The transition to solid servers has been a tricky one, and amazing as it has gone much smoother than we anticipated, thanks to their tremendous staff. Their support helps the Woopra team approve a lot more applications than we originally planned for the beta test. This benefits us as the more people test Woopra and report on their findings, the better we can make it.
Thanks so much for your support and help to improve Woopra.

We look forward to your input and review. Thanks! It is like a space center control room. I like that analogy.

Still waiting for approval, my site has been pending for a very long time now

RE Names for us…….
Hi all, during my lunch break I came up with the following:
WOOPRAERGER, WOOPRAN, WOOPRAICAN, WOOPRALITE, WOOPRAISH, WOOPRAIAN, WOOPRAEAR,
WOOPRACH, WOOPRAERGER, WOOPRAOON, WOOPRATIAN, WOOPRANIAN. WOOPRAN
I could go on, they are taking over my thoughts, so I’ll stop. :->
any other ideas??
BTW, I’ve been running woopra side by side with Indextools tracking, woopra is beating it hands down! I will be recommending that we close our INDEXTOOLS contract & solely us woopra only. I’ve also placed a link to woopra on our company website (I was allowed, before you ask)
Just one more thought, how can I get the interface (background or font colour) changed on the “start conversation” interface?
Cheers,
Ed @ brookwater

@ brookwater:
Thanks for the recommendations. Great ideas!
The colors on the interface will be changable in future versions. We’re focusing on the programming for all the underlying code first. Stay tuned as we grow and stretch.
And thanks!

After struggling with day old, static information provided by Google Analytics for over a year, switching to Woopra has become a true asset to my small business. With the limited time I have to perform SEO tasks, I have to maximize my advertising expenses and optimize my time management since I also have a full time plus occupation.
Actually observing my Web sites in a “real time” fashion is rather amazing. Woopra has given me the opportunity to analyze customer searches and to derive the correct keywords and phrases which have improved my attempts at SEO. Dynamically observing page hits is also a huge asset. Doing that permits me to alter the products available to “best fit” customer needs. As most small businesses, I am operating on a “shoestring” budget and I consider the information provided by Woopra to be priceless.
Thanks much for the time and energy you guys have put into this great product. Goodbye Google Analytics!

I had a French friend who always pronounced “whopper” as wooper, so that was the first thing that came to mind. I like it. Of course, calling people woopra-snappers might be fun too.
