I'm falling in love with Kaushik, through his book and his blog. The points in his "Six Recommendations" are things we are working on with Woopra, so I'm glad that we are on the same page, though they do offer a challenge for our developers. They are up to it.

The task of defining what is literally undefinable from the limited statistics we can gather from web users is a chore, so I'm thrilled that you are tackling the "sorry state of affairs" in an effort to help us define the undefinable on the web. 

Woopra will be changing the face of the web traffic metrics, so I hope your book(s) will help us change that face.

		<description>Thanks for the plug on my book.  To respond, I would say I live partly "in the world of business analytics" but that is often a much narrower term than what I hoped to cover in my book.  It's about measuring any "intangible" in a way that is statistically and scientifically sound - whether i is in business or not.  Also, analytics usually assumes that the analysis is done with existing data stored in databases, not with new empirical measures such as surveys or controlled experiments.  One person who sold an analytics tool told me that the term encompasses all those as well.  I told him there was already a term for that - scientific method.

It is true I used to have more articles but writing the book completely replaced that effort.  Now I'm writing a second book through the same publisher (John Wiley).  This one will be on the sorry state of risk analysis and how to fix it.  For at least the near term, I'm my contribution to periodicals will still be limited to interviews I give to others.

If you find the forum difficult to use, I'm eager to hear your feedback.
