Large News Organization Seeks Startups Using Woopra
We’ve had a request from a very large news organization who is seeking to interview startup companies that are using Woopra. Since we aren’t about to release anyone’s user data without permission, we’re seeking volunteers who would be willing to talk to the press.
If you would be willing and interested to share your experiences publicly, would you please drop a comment below to let us know?
A brief comment about your startup along with the domain Woopra is monitoring would be fantastic. The comments will be perused by the reporter and we will facilitate introductions as appropriate based on the e-mail address we have in the system for you.
Thanks in advance to everyone for your help! Keep Woopin it up!

I would love to be involved in this!

I use Woopra on the Battlestar forum (http://battlestarforum.com) and using the Woopra Application I was able to see how to better organize the links on the master page and to see how users going to the forum. During the heavy season of the show airing, we could see exactly how people were getting to the site either it was form our sister sites or outside referrals.
It was very easy to setup, and we had no problems keeping everything together.

Also have my person blog, http://bugssite.org under tracking which then I got Woopra enabled for right during it’s “startup” once again. Love being able to see where people are going with my site and how they are getting to it.

Our startup, dealoco.com, has been using woopra for a few months now. It has been great to monitor site traffic in real-time after big PR events (such as being featured on WFAA ABC news here in Dallas). The product has come a long way in just a few short months. I’m looking forward to see what new features you guys come up with next!
August 26th, 2008 at 5:00 pm
I use it on many of my sites at http://www.sportjunk.com It is fantastic. I would be happy to help
August 26th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
We are using Woopra to track our visitors and also on our blog when we post new articles. We have been looking at it so that we can refer our customers to it for Analytics.
Oh, the chat feature is really slick as well
I would love to be a part of this.
Thanks

hi,
we have been using Woopra since the start of our website. Im mostly involved in the SEO part of the site and i have to say woopra is far better than any other stats/analytics program i have ever used!
I use it mostly to optimize our pages for the kewords that people have entered to find us.
The entry/exit pages are fantastic to find out what people like and dislike about your site.
i’m happy to say i found this!
would love to give an interview from a dutch/belgian point of view
August 26th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
Works like a charm on my stock investing startup http://www.stockwatch.pl
Especially I value chatting to the users who I see to be lost in the site map, and helps improving (simplifying) the structure.
It is also very valuable to track referrers. When I see traffic peaking there is probably a link posted somewhere - and I see it working in real time. It gives hints how to create leads in the future.
August 26th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
Yes count me in please. We are about to publicly launch our site here in Australia and have been trialling Woopra for a few mths. Woopra will definitely be part of our ongoing tracking systems.

Hey John,
RealcookN.tv has been using Woopra since you gave it to us at WordCamp Dallas ‘08. We use it instead of Google Analytics. We find that the instantaneous feedback gives us a perfect gauge as to the impact of our work, on our small but faithful community.
Kat and I would be happy to help in anyway, just let us know.

We would sure like to join in on this interview. My site, http://www.virtualbirdseye.com, is somewhat unique since it’s not your average blog or forum site, and has gained some nice traffic since we started up our site just over 6 months ago. Linking to some interesting attractions around the US using aerial photos has been not only fun, but also a learning experience as well. One of the best parts of the Beta has been watching my screen - starting at one notification pop out from the bottom right of the screen every now and then… to now - watching 4-5 pop up all the time! It’s like an internal contest, watching from the morning into the evening just to see if my site is going to beat the ‘100% mark’ that was previously the record hits per day. I see great potential from this product and would love to speak with anyone who would like to hear an honest and unbiased opinion about the experience.

Hii,
As a digital marketing agency, we’ve been using Woopra not just on our own website (www.underdesign.co.uk) but on client websites too, such as http://www.bellesante.co.uk and http://www.creativebassetlaw.org.uk. Being able to monitor multiple sites within one application and at the same time has made a huge difference to the way that we work.
We also share Woopra with some of our clients, thus allowing them to see what’s happening on their site after just a brief training period and without any need for us to continue to send them reports. It’s been great to have clients asking us questions about what’s happening on their websites based on what they can see in Woopra and suggesting changes themselves - previously we struggled to get some of them to even look at the stats reports we would send them!
The effect on our workload has been so dramatic that we plan to roll Woopra out to our entire client base over the rest of 2008.
In short, using Woopra has thrilled our clients. No longer do they have to wait a few days or even a week to find out how well the latest email marketing campaign or off-line advertising program that we’ve produced for them has performed. From the moment the email launches or the radio advert is aired or the mailshot hits doormats across the UK, they can log straight into Woopra and see the results as they happen.
We’ve had lots of fun watching visitors flood into a website in response to a campaign that we created, managed and launched but we know that we are literally only scratching the proverbial surface.
Woopra has the ability to change the whole dynamics of online direct marketing. By being prepared and using our powerful CMS and the live feature of Woopra, we know that we can literally change a website right smack-bang in the middle of a campaign.
So, if we test a new page header, we can discover its pulling power within the first 10% of a campaign. If it’s not performing, we can quickly change it to another. Or we can test multiple factors within a single campaign. We’re living in the now, not the past, with live statistics.
For our small business clients, we can literally “rescue” a poorly performing campaign right in the middle, saving the company hundreds or even thousands of pounds.
Regards
Patrick Nelson

I’m about to publicly release my next project in full: http://www.gameinthemaking.com
It will be an open community game development project based around online project management and open source software. I’ve been gathering together my contacts for our official release and welcome any news/media for our launch. I would be honored to discuss such an amazing piece of software (Woopra) with anyone willing to hear me. Let me know if I can be of assistance in any way. Woopra is already setup on my Joomla 1.5 site and has been monitoring it from it’s start to todays now 500,000 alexa ranking- pre launch.

I am willing to help. We were fortunate to be approved sooner than we thought. Thanks Woopra!
August 27th, 2008 at 7:08 am
We run Woopra at http://www.mentalmagma.com
I have already been telling everyone I know that runs a website about Woopra. We run a blog that hosts unusual weekly contests and it has been fascinating to see the information with which Wooopra has provided us. My expectations weren’t that high prior to installing the software, mainly because we already had Google Analytics tracking everything. However, there is a world of difference between Google’s static graphs and Woopra’s dynamic real-time display. The user tagging system alone is worth the switch. We love to be able to see and understand our users better; with Woopra we get a much greater picture of how people actually use our site.
August 27th, 2008 at 7:22 am
We use Woopra over at http://www.iubo.co.uk
iubo lets you create your own personal search engine for all your digital clutter. It provides a unique way of organising all of your information in one place, searching it from anywhere in the world via any web enabled device and share it with friends and family.
Woopra has been an amazing tool for us, its allowed us to spot problems very early and we use it to tweak our user experience. We monitor how users actually use our site, when they sign up where do they go first? What path do they take through the site, if someone comes to the site and doesn’t sign up but views a few pages why did they leave?
Woopra allows us to gain all of this insight we never had before. Plus its just damn cool sitting watching people coming and going, using your site.
We’d be happy to participate.

We are getting ready to launch a non-profit start-up and we are waiting for approval. The site is meant to help the general public prepare for disasters (Hurricanes, Tornados, Fires, Terrorist actions, etc.).
We would like the opportunity to discuss our use of Woopra as soon as we are approved.
We are testing Woopra on another site currently (http://www.autumnthunder.com) which is a NFL Football discussion forum.

Here at http://www.spoonfed.co.uk, a London-based start-up, we’ve been using Woopra for a few weeks now and have seen first hand the effect it can have on marketing strategy and website optimisation. We were lucky enough to get accepted into the Woopra beta the same week we launched our new website and it’s made such a difference in understanding our users and their actions.
One example of this is where Woopra helped us make a significant change in our social media marketing strategy. We had been using a number of social networks and social bookmarking tools but with previous analytics tools we couldn’t see clearly and quickly how well these different tools performed. With Woopra, it became instantly obvious that one was outperforming the others. This allowed us to focus on that single tool and act more productively while bringing in even more visitors.
We’d love to talk about the other ways in which we use Woopra - it is clearly a best of breed analytics solution and regardless of who gets to help promote your service, we’re glad you’re getting some press!

Meaghan Fitzgerald

We use Woopra at our newest venture, linkyt.com.
The service allows users to share links with any groups or individual friends via email quickly, with only a few mouse clicks after the initial setup. Linkyt is much faster than sending out a traditional email. We are also working on IM functionality and planning on incorporating Facebook and other social sites as well.
Having Woopra on the site is a great help - we can see exactly what pages our users navigate, and, perhaps more importantly, in what order. It has helped us achieve a higher conversion on signups and make a better interface by placing more relevant content on more relevant pages where users are expecting it. There are, of course, also other things we love about Woopra, some that are unique to the product and some that are implemented better than Google Analytics.

Woopra has helped me dial in the correct keywords for my site. Seeing as a started a forum to compete with larger, more successful forums in my market, within 3 months of using woopra, i have surpassed them on google in every keyword search.
The live feedback is great, including the most viewed topics, their visitation time on those topics and any external links referenced back to the site. A another nice feature is the ability to review a users search criteria across the top search engines.
You get a break down on demographics, popular topics, entrance and exit url’s and the ability to view the traffic of your site based off timezones. I cant ask for anything more and would pay for this service in a heartbeat.

I am happy to be interviewed if you would like. I am a small start in South Carolina using Woopera to track all of my sites
September 3rd, 2008 at 1:26 am
I have to say woopra is the most powerful tool I have been able to use with the site for sometime! In the past on sites I’ve worked on we generally used webtrends and while the statistical analysis was great and after a campaign we could go back and look at our traffic patterns to see how we needed to change our usability we never had the capability to do it in real time.
Today I can watch how users are visiting my site, in realtime, and using my CMS system make navigation changes, in real time, to make my the architecture better and increase the amount of time people stay on site. I can also see, again in realtime, what articles people are reading and push those to the top of the article lists.
Reaction time is the name of the game, and woopra guarantee’s me the fastest time in town.
I just can’t say enough about the real time nature of the product (psst. and its free which for me is a killer!). This product is a dream come true!

We at JoomlaMafia.com use woopra, Joomla is a open source CMS and JoomlaMafia.com makes some addon software for joomla as well as giving information on how to use joomla, We have even written a woopra addon for joomla thats available for free. Woopra helps us see live when people are looking for answers we do not have yet, So we are usually able to put the answer online with in 5 minutes of them looking and then messaging the visitor to hold on we are putting the article online for them.

I’m Karel Felipe, CEO of a new computer company (we build desktop PCs under our own brand) called Lotus Computer, Inc. http://www.lotuspc.net/.
I finally got approved for the beta program today, actually. Within minutes of using Woopra, I thought to myself “this was so worth the wait”. I’m not kidding. This has to be the most incredible web analytics tool I’ve ever used, because it shows all the information we need to find out exactly what’s going on with our website, in real time.
Some of the cool features I’ve found so far: In the “Live” section, the visitors show up within seconds of coming to the site. The maps are cool… I can’t say they’re exactly useful, but they add an additional dimension to the whole thing. It’s just a cool feature. I love the color scheme. I like how it tells me how many visitors are new, their screen resolutions, among other things. I think probably the best part is that because it’s a desktop application instead of a web page, it allows for better interactivity with the maps, graphs, and overall performance of the application.
The whole thing is smooth, fast, and really looks well done. I can already tell this application is going to help us perfect our site. Awesome job, guys.

Hi,
I have been using Woopra for a month and a half now, and it is fantastic! The ability to monitor my website in real time is great because I can watch the activities of my members and visitors.
I would be happy to speak to the press about this, if required.
Kind regards

Late to the party, but I felt compelled to sound off here. A bit over a month ago, we launched Games Are Evil, a gaming journalism, news, and reviews site that also focuses on Retro and opinion pieces.
For 3 years I’ve been stuck on Google Analytics, and JUST TODAY that all changed as I sat, glued to my monitor, watching the live data Woopra was collecting stream by. For the geek, it’s more entertaining than television.
Already, I’ve been able to isolate certain viewing patterns, pull up visitors that have “stumbled” across our site, and see what else they’re interested in besides the article they landed on.
I seriously never thought I’d stray from Analytics, but after 5 hours glued to my monitor today, we’re leaving it in the dust.
I’m happy to speak to the media if asked.
Thanks for a great product.

Global Automotive Society is a start-up company building an online social community dedicated to automotive enthusiasts and (you may not have guessed it) the environment. You can still enjoy the culture and lifestyle of an enthusiast and make small efforts to reduce your carbon footprint because on the macro level, the impact would be significant!
Here at Gasociety.com, we have been tracking our visitors in real-time using Woopra for two weeks now. It’s an incredible asset to our development if you ask me. The ability to “tag” each user simplifies the process of building a unique user base and helps follow each user’s trail along the site. Since the website is still being developed and has not yet officially launched, the “Start a Conversation” feature also makes it possible to receive “anonymous” feedback from our visitors to better develop the site. All-in-all, Woopra is one of the most effective development tools if used properly and is worth trying if you’ve considered Google Analytics.
We would be more than willing to help our friends at Woopra!
Best Regards,
Jonathan Valencia

Woopra is a very effective tool right from the start. It clearly fills the gaps left out by Google Analytics and the difference is immense - it does everything that Analytics does and everything that you wished it did. Optimizing website design, ad targeting, content and keywords - are some of the things that Woopra makes possible in a breeze. Once we’ve used it, we now cannot imagine running a website without it.

It coveys the notion that we are not just an Internet company, but a people business. I can send pictures if interested.

I use Woopra for tracking a new website that is just now starting up. It’s called iAM, and is a social networking site where you can get free profiles. There’s a twist though, ever change has to be approved on iAM, thus making it alot safer to use. No personal info or anything like that is allowed. I would love to be part of the interview.

I am a web developer and an online marketer. I use woopra with my blog http://www.coolwebdeveloper.com With google not updating the stats on every hit, woopra is a very good solution to monitir your traffic minutely and change the bahvior of spending accordingly. Sometimes even half a day matters in making or loosing customers and money … that is where woopra fits in and is a great tool. I am also planning to use it for some of my upcoming dating and hosting review sites. But I must mention at times woopra support is really slow in approving sites, that is the only drawback I saw. But once added its a gem.

Count me in too. I have been using Woopra since April and use it for two client sites. The first is http://www.kettlemorainestudiotour.com and the second site is http://www.mukwonagoathleticclub.com. Woopra has been a great tool. I love knowing what search terms are being used and who the referrer are. Clients love the stats. Seeing activity helps to validate reasons for keeping me employed.
I plan on working with the WordPress plugin soon.
Great tool! Thanks!

Haven’t been using it long (@ http://goldenlightsoft.org), but within a day, GA got kicked straight out. Woopra is a lot better, if just a tad bit buggy at the moment.

@ dawmail333:
Thanks. Woopra is still in private beta testing, so buggy is actually a compliment. That is how it works and we’re working overtime to clean up all those bugs as soon as they are found and reported in the Woopra Forum. Thanks for your feedback and help!

We’d like to offer ourselves to be interviewed. We are a start-up clothing company, called The Neatest! We focus on t-shirts, designed by and rated by member artists. Winning designs are printed and the artists get cash and residuals, and 15% of our total profit goes to charity.
The website, being tracked by Woopra, is http://www.theneatest.com/

We have been using Woopra to track traffic on our http://www.FitHeads.com site. I have used other tracking sites including Google Analytics and find Woopra very useful so far. The real time nature is nice and I am ready to download the iphone ap to evaluate.
