New! WordPress Plugin Now Displays Real-time Site Searches
Two quick updates for WordPress users.
- If you’ve had any problems with showing the Woopra stats in your WordPress dashboard please update your WordPress plugin as we’ve fixed a critical bug that prevented a few of the engines from displaying. It’s likely that this update will resolve any outstanding issue.
- Today we released another modification to the plugin which adds support for displaying user search terms within the Live area in the Woopra client. This plugin works with either the embedded WordPress search, or with embedded Google searches.

After you’ve updated your plugin to the 1.3.6 (or higher) version you will see a checkbox in the Woopra settings area for Search.
![]()
Just enable it and you should be good to go.
Now, keep in mind that the terms users are searching your site for are not being stored on the Woopra Engines. They are merely being displayed in real time within the Live tab in your client software.
One of the improvements coming down the line will be to allow Custom Event Notifications (in your Manage tab) to let you know when someone is searching on your site, and what exactly they are searching for. Who knows, you might just want to send them a chat and help them find what they are looking for.
Incidentally, this little piece of customization was accomplished by very simply using one line of code in the WordPress plugin. Our JavaScript Developer Guide gives programmers everything they need to be able to add this functionality to any other plugin.

Thanks for the update, but it is still not working for me. I’m getting stats in the desktop client, but nothing in the Web interface or in the WP admin section.

I have the same problem as Steve, I can only see the stats on the desktop client.
Thank you very much for adding the search queries, I’m sure it will be very useful.

Hello,
I know this is not the appropriate way, but I am not getting any other response.. I am waiting for over three days now, for my site to be activated… Should I wait some more?
Thank you

@ mippie32:
We just approved a couple thousand sites as part of our private beta testing, allowing beta testers to help us put Woopra through its paces. We will be approving more when more resources become available. We have more about 40,000 beta testers using Woopra and their feedback has been invaluable. Please be patient and we will approve more soon.

@ nicholas:
Have you checked out the Forum for the answer on how to retry to get your stats to work? We’ve updated the servers and the Woopra WordPress Plugin so make sure you are using the latest version. Thanks!

Its still looking for plugins/woopra/lang/en.js which not exists.
October 8th, 2008 at 5:50 am
Lorelle, the forum entry you referenced - http://www.woopra.com/forums/topic/wordpress-plugin-your-query-returned-0-results-click-here-to-retry-again - is not resolved. This update did not fix the problem for me or others.
The only issue is that stats do not show in the wordpress admin console. The stand-alone woopra program works well. Hope you will continue to try to resolve this problem. Many others seem to be having this same issue.
Regards,
Ray

Lorelle,
There are no instructions at all over there except update the plug in, which I did. Still not working. Do you need additional information?

Peter,
We have no idea what you are referring to. Could you elaborate a little bit about where you’ve seen this and whether it is in reference to the WordPress plugin specifically?
Thanks,
John

Lorelle, others,
the problem referenced in http://www.woopra.com/forums/topic/wordpress-plugin-your-query-returned-0-results-click-here-to-retry-again has been resolved. See the thread for details.
Thanks to Elie for helping me track it down. If I were an PHP guru I probably could have seen from the source that URL file access is required and I did not have it enabled on my server.
Works now!

John.
In previous versions of the plugin, there was a lang folder, now in the recents one theres not.
But the plugin its still looking for it.
When I used that old plugin with the lang folder it was working correctly, now it kind of works, so I use code directly in my footer instead of the plugin.
Scince here it stopped working. http://www.woopra.com/forums/topic/wordpress-plugin-tracks-site-but-doesnt-show-stats#post-4772
I see this error in a live stats, I can see which files are requested in my site and the lang one is called from the plugin.
By the way, 1.3.7 does not fix this.
Hope this helps.

Without more information, it’s hard to answer your questions. Please direct them to the forums so you can get personal help on the issue. Thanks!

@ Sergei:
I’m sure you are aware that you are using an old version of WordPress that is no longer supported. While the Woopra WordPress Plugin will work, it is strongly advised that you upgrade for security reasons.
Also, have you upgraded the Plugin and uploaded it to your site correctly? As John asked, is this an issue with the Plugin or the desktop client program?

[...] First of all, I’m using WordPress over on my personal blog. In the Woopra plugin for WordPress I’ve enabled all of the notification options including “Auto Tagging”, “Show Comments” and “Show Searches”. For a little more detail on what the options do, you might see this previous blog post on the addition of the search tracking feature. [...]

I am having issues accessing data on my Wordpress dashboard, I get the following message:
The Woopra Plugin was not able to request your analytics data from the Woopra Engines.
Your hosting provider is not allowing the Woopra Plugin to fetch data from the Woopra Servers.
Is there something I should be doing?
I am getting data on my desktop application. However, I noticed that looking at the “Live” feed the time is off - for example the latest stats show 10 am, but it is now 12:30. Is this a lag? Or is my time setting wrong somewhere?
On the desktop where can I see tagged people who commented? I had three comments this morning, I can see where they visited the comments but I don’t see that they were “tagged” by Woopra.
Thanks for your help!

@ michellekostya:
Have you reported this in the Woopra Forum? That is where you will get the help you need. Be sure and provide all the information including if you’ve updated the Plugin, what version of WordPress are you using, and so on. If the time is off, you can set it in your Members Area.
