Woopra Install Easier: No ID Number Required
It was recently announced in the October Woopra State of the Union post that Woopra has upgraded their DNS architecture to simply the tracking JavaScript for using and installing Woopra on your blog or website to no longer require the ID number.
If you are installing Woopra manually with out a Plugin or add-on to your website’s program, the Woopra tracking javascript has now been reduced to a single standard line of code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://static.woopra.com/js/woopra.js"></script>
If you are using https on your website, use the following JavaScript:
<!-- Woopra Code Start -->
<script type="text/javascript">
var _wh = ((document.location.protocol=='https:') ?
"https://sec1.woopra.com" : "http://static.woopra.com");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + _wh + "/js/woopra.js'
type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>
<!-- Woopra Code End -->
[* Remove line breaks *]
No website ID number is required, just this simple JavaScript. It is highly recommended that you update your Woopra JavaScript in order to take advantage of the new features.
The installation process for Woopra is now an easy three step process.
- Step One: Activate Woopra
- Click Add a Website on the Members Panel.
- Type in the direct address to your website.
- Select the estimated pageviews.
- Enter the GMT time zone for you and your blog.
- Enter the Invitation Code in the form, if you received an invitation or approval code (required).
- Click Add Website.
- Step Two: Install Woopra on Your Website
- Step Three: Installing Woopra on Your Computer
In addition to these improvements, the Members panel on the Woopra website has been renovated with some easy-to-use new features.
You can now quickly change your Time Zone without manually calculating the GMT reference time.- You can now change the domain name if you change domain names or enter the wrong domain name, or want to move your Woopra account to a new blog (the old one will no longer be supported).
URL Parameter Filtering helps you include or exclude portions of your URLs in order to aggregate statistics for those wishing to track specific pages, products, campaigns, or pageviews.
There are now a variety of Woopra applications for various CMS, blog, and website platforms for you to choose from, and many more are in development, making it even easier to use Woopra.
The Woopra development team has been working overtime to streamline installing and using Woopra, so stay tuned for more developments.
I upgrade Wordpress up to 2.7. Woopra plugin write: “The Woopra Plugin was not able to request your analytics data from the Woopra Engines.
Your hosting provider is not allowing the Woopra Plugin to fetch data from the Woopra Servers.” What is mean? And what shall I do?
@ Жомарт:
Have you updated your Woopra WordPress Plugin? Did you add the JavaScript manually to your site or are you just using the Plugin?
Our tests of the Woopra WordPress Plugin with WordPress 2.7 show it to work very well. You might have a conflict with another Plugin, so please report on this to the Woopra Forums so we can work with others to see if they are having the same problem. Thanks.
Now everything is OK. May be it was, because servers were down?
is querystring case sensitive now?
as before every value in my querystring is converted to lowercase by woopra.
Hello,
Found out about woopra from http://www.rockettheme.com and came to check it out.
Also see it looks like beta is closed now till you free up some resources but i am wondering at what point we or more specifically I might be able to expect this to either open up or be released. I build sites for a living and basically am interested in checking this out, if its gonna be a 6 month deal i need to look elsewhere but at the same time if you might bring in a few more beta testers i would very much like to participate. I have been using Linux on the desktop and on servers for well over 10 years and have submitted literally hundreds if not thousands of Bug Reports and have also participated in hundreds of other beta programs over the years going back….. a very long way…. If of any merit might also be helpful to know i have a background in R&D/Prototyping in Electronics (Hardware always requires software) so i am intimately familiar with what is helpful and what is just additional noise. Im also interested in getting some kind of timeline/roadmap.
(something experience has shown is generally more vaporous than fluid and have no expectations of their basis in reality)
I would very much like to help out in getting Woopra out the door in that respect.
Tnt

Hi,
I’ve recently updated the code for my site previously unique ID was there. now its new code but since after this changes, woopra is not displaying the data . or i.e no visits has recorded even if its there.
Please do let me know whether any maintenance or upgradation is going on? or something else is a problem
@ IP:
When you upgraded your site, did you upgrade the Woopra WordPress Plugin and/or check the Guide for the updated information? We’ve changed how Woopra works so check the guide for the latest information. Check in the forums for more help.
This may not be revelant but i figured i’d post this anyway. If you’re using ubuntu 8.10 you may be in for some issues with the network manager. For some unknown reason it stops functioning. You will need to manually set you’re resolv.conf with your ISP’s DNS servers. That file is located in /etc/network/resolv.conf
Big to you thanks for the help in this question. I did not know it.
Any way to fix it? Thanks
You are going to have to be more specific. Fix what? If you need help on an issue, the forums are a great place to start. Thanks.
Is there anyone else who can’t see the end part of this post? I believe the webmaster needs to look into the source code on this page maybe?
Not sure what you are or are not seeing. The entire post and comments appear properly in Firefox and Chrome.
Well it’s great to see that you’re using proper grammar.
