Download the Woopra 1.3 RC2: The Final Release Candidate

Woopra News  Woopra Tips, May 3rd, 2009 by Elie K

Thanks again to everyone who has been testing the new Woopra 1.3 release candidate, and we appreciate all of the feedback. Today we’re releasing the second, and final release candidate before the forced mass upgrade from the 1.2 release.

This new release candidate is a highly recommended update for everyone running 1.3 RC1, and it’s also much more stable than the 1.2 release so if you’ve been having any problems on 1.2 you may wish to download and manually install this update.

Woopra Light Theme

New Features:

New Features

  • This release adds a new theme editor which adds the ability to create your own themes
  • In addition to the ability to create themes, we’ve added a new Woopra Light Theme
  • The final 1.3 release will include the ability to share themes with the community, so get your themes ready for sharing!
  • A new Quick Stats feature resides at the top, and this functionality will be expanded prior to the final release.

Updates

  • A number of User Interface enhancements have been incorporated
  • The code has been optimized to drastically decrease CPU consumption

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the Mac version launching process
  • Fixed a bug while renaming Websites
  • Fixed a bug while syncing Website properties
  • Fixed a few memory leaks
  • Fixed a bug in the login process
  • Fixed segmentation reports bug
  • Fixed a timezone related issue for some components
  • Fixed a few bugs in the live map
  • And over 40 other minor bugs…

This version is very stable compared to 1.2, and is a recommended update. We didn’t force update because we will do that with 1.3 next month when we’ll be introducing some major changes.

Feel free to download your version, and we look forward to your feedback as always:

Stay tuned!

There isn’t enough separation between the new styling of tabs. Its hard to distinguish the different tabs. Make the black separator something more showing (light). Also, all the default colors are gone for the themes :( Now we have to do everything manually with the theme editor, or use just the basic 4 themes (2 of which are white).

  2. [...] Got Same Issues as previous ones.
I got Disconnecting in every couple of seconds. Nothing changed for me :(

  6. And This RC2 version doesn’t solved the disconnecting problems that i have.
As Loren sad that next version of 1.3rc1 will be stable and will solve the problems of users that got disconnecting after few seconds from woopra doesn’t seems to be solved again.

all versions with 1.2 beta 1.3 rc1 and 1.3rc2 same essues with desconnecting every couple of secconds.

and it was checked in windows xp sp3 vista and windows 7 beta 7000

Same issue. i think that we have account problems in Woopra’s server and not in the application itself.

Too bad that this version also doesn’t solve this critical and most important problem.

Thats not “stable”!! The notification doesn’t work. The chat function also still doesn’t work (Windows)

I like it, seems 100x faster and a lot more responsive. Keep up the good work! The bright colors will take some getting used to but I like it, its something different.

    Hi there..

It seems like there is a problem with the calendar view. When one is in a country where the week starts on Monday, the calendar view messes up. Example.. Week 18 starts with Sunday the 10, and monday the 4..

trying this now, hope the tagging feature works on this version.

  15. fedmich says:

I hope that we can hide the “url” of the sites, if a site already has “website title”.
so I can put alias on the website if its url is really long, and this will save more space on the header part too.

    Cheers

The upgrade does seem faster and I really like the light color
scheme but I have two things:

1.) Is it possible to have different sounds for different notifications ?
2.) how do I turn off the incessant background beating sound ?

    Thanks

    Tom

  17. Tom Greico says:

I get a ticking sound that runs in the background.
How do I make it stop?

  18. greico says:

I have installed 1.3 RC2 all is well and running fast.

    I do have several questions:
    1. Can you change the sound for different event notifications?
    2. Can I change the search view not to expanded and just the visitor information
    3. How can I make the continuous ticking/beating background sound stop?

    Thanks

    Incredible.
I made download and I liked very.
    Congratulations to the creators

    Hi

Really faster… but have noticed a little bug in Analytics tab :

there is a gab between month on the calendar for date range selection, if I select, ie, 9th of may, it will show just at the top of calendar, the 9th of april

I don’t like the new design, the old one is sooooooo much better and usable.. please give back the old layout and design

  22. While I am thankfull for the free tool, Woopra’s latest redesigned interface (1.3) is a dog’s breakfast of poor design. What was once a highly readable and user-friendly interface is now just plain ugly and gross.

Please bring back the old design.

Analytics does not identify dynamic urls … it simply lumps everything together as /index.php ..

Can this work with dynamic URLs? Analytics simply lumps every page together as /index.php ..

  25. djMot says:

This may not be a very enlightening post for the developers, but overall, I really felt the 1.2 interface was WAY better then 1.3. I think the 1.3 dashboard is way too cluttered, and I loved the larger 1.2 dashboard graph. I miss not being able to double-click a search term and end up at a google serp for the term; it was nice to be able to see where you rank for a term. Now I have to copy/paste into the google toolbar.

In so many way, I’d really rather see you go back the other direction with the interface.

What happened to the News Channel in Woopra? Or even a link to the woopra.com website?

    • The News Channel is there. If your screen is small or you’ve resized Woopra, it isn’t visible. Enlarge the screen and it will return to the Referrers panel under Analytics.

Does the themes editor only exist for the Windows version? I can’t seem to find any theme editing options nor any way to change themes.

    • @pixelgun: The Theme Editor for Woopra is in every version of Woopra 1.3 RC. Click on the site tab drop down arrow and at the bottom you will see the link to bring up the Theme Editor.
