WordPress.com Woopra Requests

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Folks,

I see that we currently have a few hundred requests in the queue for tracking on blogs. While Woopra loves WordPress (I’m friends with Matt, and we even use WordPress for this site), WordPress.com does not currently allow the implementation of any Javascripts on WordPress.com blogs.

This is mainly a feature for the protection of the WordPress blogging community. If they allowed the use of Javascript all over the blogs there would no doubt be malicious or harmful code inserted by people.

Having said all of that, if your blog is on WordPress.com and you really want to be able to use Woopra, you absolutely must go to the Add Woopra to WordPress.com discussion and chime in. Until there are a large number of requests, you guys simply aren’t going to get Woopra. ;-)

Welcome to Woopra

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Dear Woopra-ers? Wooprites? What are we going to call ourselves?

Anyway, on behalf of Elie Khoury, Jad Younan, myself, and the rest of the Woopra team I’d like to welcome you all to our little community! After what was intended to be a small, private beta release to 200 people at WordCamp Dallas, we’ve been experiencing extremely high demand, and are working as fast as possible to turn up capacity in order to ensure we can get an invitation to everyone.

In addition to working on the Woopra application and infrastructure, we’re finding new ways to communicate with all of you and we truly hope that you’ll take the time to talk back to us. The launch of the new Woopra Blog is an important milestone because we’ve been unable to keep up with the huge number of incoming e-mails. As a result, when we notice trends on the inbound e-mail we’ll put out notifications with updates via the blog, so please take a moment and subscribe for updates.

Equally important however, are the launch of the new Woopra Forums! Our hope is that the forums will help everyone with installation, troubleshooting, and feature requests. We’ll be manning the forums as much as possible, but we sure would appreciate it if everyone could pitch in and help us answer questions for newbies once in a while. We are really dependent on the community to step in and help us out a bit in this area.

Once again, the entire Woopra team is very excited, and we’re working around the clock to make sure we don’t waste a moment of time getting the service out to everyone who wants it! Please drop us a line with comments and encouragement. Since we’re not getting much sleep, we could use it! :-)
