Download WoopraWe are currently accepting sign ups for Woopra to be a beta tester for our free, closed, private beta testing phase. We now have more than 60,000 beta testers after recently adding 8,500 more. We’ve closed approvals of new members temporarily as we put all our energy into the next release. Approvals will be announced soon via the Woopra blog, @woopra and @woopramembers Twitter accounts.

You can now view your Woopra analytics via two methods, through the desktop client version of Woopra and with the new Woopra Web Analytics, accessible through the Members > My Websites > View Stats page. You can use both or just one as the need arises.

Woopra Web Analytics

The new Woopra Web Analytics is the web application version of Woopra and requires no download or installation, other than the installation of Woopra on your site.

The web version of Woopra includes integration of Google Maps and some basic statistics and analytics. This version will be soon available with the Woopra API for inclusion with WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and other blog and website platforms.

Woopra Desktop Client

The desktop client version of Woopra installs onto your computer as a desktop client program and offers the full range of web analytics, real-time track, and statistics. The will provide you with the step-by-step instructions. In summary:

  1. Sign Up: Activate Woopra by signing up and entering your website in the Members area. When you receive a confirmation email, your account has been activated. Read the beta testing restrictions for using Woopra during this development phase.
  2. Check Java: Install the latest version of Java from the Java official website.
  3. Download Woopra: Download and install the appropriate version of Woopra for your computer’s operating system following the Installation Guide for installing Woopra on your computer.
  4. Add Woopra to Site: Install the appropriate Woopra Plugin or third-party Woopra Plugins or tools, or use the Manual Installation on your blog or website to add the Woopra JavaScript to your site following the .
  5. Go Woop! Start Woopra on your computer and watch your blog’s stats live!

On the road or away from your computer? You can also view live stats via the web in the Members area on the web with the new Woopra Web Analytics.

Responsibilities and Restrictions

During beta testing, Woopra will only track the domain you have registered in your Member’s area. If you are using subdomains, Woopra will not track them unless that is the registered domain, such as woopra.example.com. Woopra will also not track subwebs. These options will be available in future versions of Woopra.

By installing Woopra during the closed private beta testing phase, there are some responsibilities and restrictions you need to know about:

  • Woopra for Beta Testers Only: You are signing up as a beta tester to help us improve Woopra. See our guidelines for beta testers.
  • Beta Testing is Not for Sissies: Woopra is under beta testing development. Only download and use Release Candidates if you are code savvy and willing to provide the input we need to improve Woopra. Full beta releases are stable but work is always ongoing during this development phase.
  • Woopra Status: You can track the status of Woopra via the on Twitter.
  • Approvals: Approvals are announced when we have resources available. Monitor our Woopra blog or blog feed for news updates. We choose randomly from those signed up, typically approving no more than 2-3 sites per beta tester.
  • Use the Woopra Forums: Report all bugs, problems, feature requests, and suggestions in the Woopra Forums.
  • Restricted to 10K Pageviews: Understand that Woopra is currently restricted to 10,000 pageviews per day during this beta testing phase to maximize resources.
  • WordPress.com and Hosted Blogs: Woopra does not currently work on WordPress.com or other hosted blog services unless the service has added Woopra to it’s options.
  • Upgrading Woopra: Woopra has an auto-update feature and notification service. You will be asked to restart the program in order for the update to occur. See Woopra Upgrades for more help and information.
