He he, I'm baffled with the chat function. Simply GREAT!
We offer 360° spherical panorama pictures, and having the opportunity to interact with the user I can help him to navigate or to test a 360° panorama.

Is it possible to change "Webmaster" on the chat panel to my real name?

Am I right to notice there still is no support for these dynamic addresses? PLEASE can we have this!

Other than that, I think Woopra is cool and well done to the developers who have no doubt worked very hard to bring this stats system to us.

My site isn't very busy, and a while ago, when I did a search in Woopra, it would only go back a week or so. Today, when I search, I get 0 rows returned, even though I know people are visiting my site.

Does Woopra delete history from time to time? If so, they need to give me a way to save the history.

This still appears broken in the new release today.

I don't understand how 1.1 had it, but it has been broken in the 3 releases since.

I run a Zencart shop, and its template system ties all the pages to "/index.php?main_page=whatever_section" which isn't great, but I used to be able to track when users hit the shopping cart using the whole URL string - now it wont work at all.

Even more bizarre is that if I use the 'Page Title' field and add "Shopping Cart" (which only appears on the cart page) then I get a notification on EVERY page view regardless of where they are in the site.

Hope this gets fixed in the full/paid-for release.

So, has it been addressed? Because I don't see it...Or is there a setting I'm missing?

You can find a picture example of the Woopra on the Woopra features page at http://www.woopra.com/features/ to see what the chat screen looks like. It's evolving and will soon be customizable.

So far, the immediate response is to check it out. People are using this in so many creative ways, including announcing they are open for onsite chats through Twitter and holding contests (Chat with me win a prize) and such. It's really fun and we'll be writing about these soon on the blog.

Has anyone got an example of adding a click-to-chat button? im desperate to get this working for my users.. trying to iniatiate a chat session myself rarely works due to pop up blockers etc, or users get spooked.

Reading winstonford senario made me think about my own and for me its more like you enter the store and are browsing the products while un known to you the assistant is following you around, watching your every move without you knowing. Then just as you are about to pick something off the shelf the assistant jumps up in front of you SURPRISE!... can i help you.. the imediate reaction for most people is to run away!

How did you get this to work? Could you post your code? (without ID obviously) I've been trying to get Woopra to read syntax from an email url with no luck. (code tags added here)

Here's what I've tried:

woopra_array['email2']='<%= QueryString("utm_content")%>';
woopra_array['email3']='<%= QueryString("utm_content=")%>';
woopra_array['name']= $utm_content;
woopra_array['name']=' <% QueryString("utm_content")%>';

But I don't have any idea how the arrays are named or where they might show up!

Help?

Btw, the syntax looks something like this:
http://www.redcanary.ca/view/project-manager26?utm_source=ESP&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=%2Fview%2Fproject-manager26&utm_content=email%40domain.ca&utm_campaign=landing+page

Great examples of how the chat feature works with Woopra. We will be making it customizable in the future so the chat "greeting" is more welcoming and personalized.

I'm seeing a lot of people on Twitter talking about using it on their site to just invite people to come by and chat, enter contests by chatting, and giving interactive feedback in one on one consultations and discussions. At least one person said they were using it with one-on-one consultation, guiding the person through their website as they talked about their project. Fascinating!

Look forward to a lot of improvement on this feature, especially as we learn more how people are using it.

We will be adding badges and helpful alerts, and even a way to have a visitor alert the webmaster they wish to chat from the site in future versions.

Indeed, it's a new world with Woopra. Hey, that would be a good T-shirts saying! Why don't you add it to the list? It's a great one.

I have used this during testing a few times in three months. Most do not appear to get the invite, I am guessing they somehow have it blocked. One of our contributors (a tech guy that supplies live police scanners on our site) loved it when I popped in on him one day. When we were done he responded "Chat anytime!"

A few days ago I saw a visitor from a town a friend of mine works in. I assumed it was him since the person had been to the site 30 or 40 times. I extended an invitation, no response the person disconnected and I have not seen them again.

I later found my friend was home and not at work. Looks like "Is that you George?" spooked our reader.

kreal's technique works perfectly in this case. However, Woopra will have a built-in support for such URLs in the future releases. You will probably have a check-box in your members area to enable/disable this feature, since many people would not like to have it enabled by default.

I have noticed that if you use RewriteRules it works.

I would like to see this resolved as well. Not getting the Querystrings is making the tracking rather useless.

Any creative workarounds would be appreciated as well.

Thanks,

...this is fixed in the next update...

Is there any news on the next update / when dynamic urls will be supported?
Many thanks

Thanks skidvis for getting back on this.

Tried it, but still no difference in the Visitor Navigation path so I guess I'll just have to wait and see if it is implemented on a later stage.

Another question, I see mention of an API, but have not been able to find any other details anywhere on this site.

Cheers,

Right, you could create variables that would tell you the query string parameters. For instance, something like:

woopra_array['id']='<%= QueryString("id")%>';

That way the ID would show up in Woopra.

Thanks for replying but not quite how that would help us.

At the moment a live view Visitor Navigation path pretty much looks like this :
/product.asp
/product.asp
/product.asp
/product.asp
...

When really it should have been :
/product?id=3
/product?id=4
/product?id=5
/product?id=6

If you know what I mean.. ALL urls in the navigation path is stripped of query string parameters, which is just mind boggling silly.
