Sorry I didn't post this in the Bug forum to start with. I did post on this issue in the Troubleshooting forum though. I included before and after screen shots to show how the referrer is changing:

http://www.woopra.com/forums/topic/visit-referrer-info-is-changing-in-the-search-tab

For me it happens on almost every visit from a search engine. I'll note the referrer in the live view and when I look at the same visit in the Search tab the referrer changes to Woopra.com. The My Searches area of the dashboard and the Search Engines tab under Analytics are displaying the correct referrer though.

I hope I'm not posting my URL too much, I'd hate for anyone to get annoyed with http://www.boomatomic.com :)

I'm getting this too.

Referer is listed as a site that does link to my home page, along with search terms (the sort you might google for), but the site shown doesn't have a search facility, so I'm guessing it is a bug.

There have been a few posts about people getting other domains popping up as referrer when it really is google. Guess it's a bug.

I've been digging into this and here are my thoughts.

1. You've been commenting and participating on the forum for a bit, and disclosing your URL, thus, inviting people to check your site out from Woopra.com. Logical, and actually well done! :D

2. Possibly, a few people searching for information on Woopra, which you've mentioned on your blog and it turns up in the searches, could have jumped from Woopra.com to your site, because they were familiar with it, or who knows. Not sure. Stranger things have happened.

I've been running Woopra for months now, and I searched through all of my referrals and stats for my site and a few of the test sites and can't find Woopra.com anywhere - which ticks me off cause you are getting hits from Woopra and I'm not. NAH! :D

Keep an eye on this and let us know if it pops up again. And thanks! Also, be sure and post this in the bug section in the future so our techs can jump on this stuff immediately.

I certainly don't mind the traffic, but Woopra.com is showing as the visit referrer on quite a few of my recent site visits. These aren't links from the forum either, there are search terms listed next to the referrer just like someone had searched from Google.

Here's a screenshot:

http://www.boomatomic.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/woopra-referral.png

In fact, when I go to the search tab to show recent visits, referrals I know used to say Google now say Woopra.com.
