UPDATE: I did what you said and looked at the source code for two of my pages (a WP page and a non-WP page), and I didn't notice much of a difference in the code.

My Woopra website ID was there, but nothing else that looks like user specific information.

Thanks, John. I appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. That is good to know.

One follow up question: how does this affect the information that is displayed in Woopra? Does this mean that you will not be able to see certain user-specific information in Woopra if that user is on a non-WordPress page? It sounds like that is what you are saying, but I don't know much about the technical side of all of this.

I originally asked the question because I didn't think there was any difference in the user information displayed in Woopra for WP and non-WP pages, but I may have been missing something. Thanks again.

Brock,

I can't give you a highly technical answer, but I can demonstrate the difference to you between what WordPress or one of the other CMS plugins and the standard JavaScript do differently.

If you are logged into your site and you view one of the WordPress pages and then choose to View Source in your browser, you'll see down at the very bottom that the Woopra script will have some user data appended to it. It should be YOUR specific user information, and this is being passed to Woopra for tracking purposes.

If you go to one of your non WordPress pages, and do the same thing, you'll find that the Woopra script does not contain any of the personally identifiable information.

Hope that helps.

John

Can someone please explain what this note from the Manual Install section of the installation page means:
"This method of installation will not integrate the user tracking functionality. Plugins are required to pass specific user identifiable details."

I have a wordpress blog running on part of my site so I use the WP plugin for the blog, and manually inserted the code for the rest of the site, but so far I can't tell any difference in the data for each. Can someone tell me what the above note means by "user tracking functionality"? How is that functionality is different when using the plugin vs manual install? Thanks.
