1.3RC1 Windows Client Issues

    I've just had a quick look and these are the first things I've noticed:

    - Calender: previous months won't load

    - There's "RD" and "Regular domains" in "analytics >referrers". What's the difference??
    There's something wrong with the RD layout. screenshot > http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/981/woops1.jpg
    The numbers are too high for one today, but far too low to be a summary for the time since my data was lost.

    - clusty.com and altavista.com are in RD and Regular domains. These are search engines.

    - After a short while I lost connection on basles.be. After the reconnect, the data from the last visitors (while connected) was gone.

    - search engines don't show in referrers (dashboard)

    - while I was connected there was a visitor that came via Google with some specific keywords. These keywords are not in "dashboard > my keywords" or "dashboard > my searches". There's only 1 page which has those words (Google also shows only 1 page). This page doesn't show in "my pages". Is this because this was a returning visitor and those keywords were the ones he used when visiting for the first time??

    Everything with the new client worked fine for about an hour and then my sites would no longer connect to the servers although I can still log into the client without a problem. Been that way for several hours now. I'd make this more detailed but there's not much more to say. Sorry about that.

    Otherwise, I really liked what I saw in the new client. Great job folks!

    as i mentioned in a previous thread there is an issue with the exclude i cant seem to get it working, im using vista java version 6 update 11 standard edition, i also seem to be having trouble viewing any analytical data past before the 15th of feb, i have had woopra running since january i could see it in the previous version but it just shows oops no data, or just a blank screen. another quick question or request which im not sure is possible so shoot me down, with notification you can enter a url etc, i use a bit of ajax in my website for my comment system to do my submitting and my retrival, im wondering if its at all possible to setup the notifications to recognize ajax requests in any way so i get a notification when someone has left a comment? are notifications stored on a machine as if im right in thinking in the previous version when i downloaded a client on my work machine and one at home, when i set up a notification at work, when i logged in at home the notification would then appear there as well, doesnt seem to be happening with this release.

    just one more quick thing regards to the right mouse button options, they are not very visible at all, is this a setting i can change in woopra i font color or something as they dont show up against the grey background.

  • Regarding some of the comments in this thread:

    RD versus Regular Domains: The RD was up for testing and will be removed soon.

    Server downtime: As we make changes under the hood, the server will come on and off. Be patient. Close Woopra and then open and log in again to see if that resolves things.

    Help Us Help YOU: Please be specific with what version of Windows and Java you are using. If you are running behind a firewall and having connection problems, please let us know.

    Tags: We're working on resolving the issue with tags.

    Not a bug, but I am not wild about the new default in the search view - expanding automatically. I find this makes it difficult to see what I want at a glance. Is there any way to make it not expand?

    I'm seeing a strange layout at the calendar, March 1st is missing and the other Sundays are all up one row. The weeks are showing the sums of visits/pageviews from the row above. For example the first row looks like this: "Week #9, 8 2 3 4 5 6 7", Week #9 shows the data for March 1st, which is not showing on the calendar.
    This might be a localization-bug (week starts on Monday vs. week starts on Sunday or something). I'm using Java 1.6 U 11 on a computer with German localization.

    - In the Live view (beneath the geographical live view), I have data in the visitor, countries, referrers, platforms and browser tabs, but nothing in the "pages" tab.

    - "Analyse query" doesn't give me any results, just an empty page.

    I use a router (with SPI firewall security) and Comodo firewall, but haven't had any connection problems lately.

    Geography right click Country > analyse (Belgium, Netherlands, unknown & France):

    Visitors
    - shows no results in geo overlay
    - no flag in countries (unknown shows question mark)

    Pages
    - outgoing links still show my own website (without the www)

    Referrers
    - "search engines", "emails" & "regular domains" show the same result for every country.

    Hey volks,

    first: your new client is awesome!
    But i have a improvement suggestion for "Exclude Visits".

    Is it possible to add a checkbox/text or an additional dropdown item like "exclude this pc". The reason of my suggestion is: i develop in two locations with dynamic ip adresses, and i don't want to log invocations on my website from this developer pcs!

    I've noticed that the visits and pageviews on the calendar are not the same as today visits & today pageviews

    At this moment:
    today visits: 20
    today pageviews: 50

    on the Calender:
    visits: 19
    pageviews: 44

    Hi Guys, Great job. I've noticed a couple of things, not a big deal but here ya go.
    I'm using XP, Opera 9.62 and have the latest Java.
    1) There seems to be a lag between the "dashboard" the "seach" and "Calendar". What shows up in the "dashboard" I'm not seeing anywhere else untill the next day or at least hours later.
    2) The Calendar sometimes has an Orange corner and sometimes not. I like the calendar but think the current day needs to be marked better, like a red corner or somthing because it looks like a real mess when you first open it and I don't know what day it is in my life half the time lol.
    Love this program. You should be proud.

    One other thing,

    if i switched Vista to "stanby" and recall it, woopra shows me an "reconnect message" with an indicator that does not stop spinning. Few minutes later, woopra is still trying to reconnect, and
    it reacts to nothing. The only way to End this thing is to kill the woopra.exe process and start it normal again.

  • I've been using 1.3RC1 since it was launched. It looks quite nice, but I hate the awful orange. Can't we choose the colour as we can the background?

    However, the things I was really hoping would start working still aren't:

    * External links (maybe with ? and & in the URL) not logged
    * Files (eg PDFs) linked to from an image are still not logged
    * Tagging not properly working

    And the expanded Search view by default is so hard to read. Much easier to have a list and expand as required.

    Otherwise a great product!

  • after working for a day the exclude function "stopped" working.
    every time i visit my site (my ip is excluded) i always get counted the first page.

  • We've been working on the server, so try closing and restarting the desktop client to see if this gets the exclude working again. Thanks!

  • no ... still counting my first pageview. its hapening only on 1 site on the other it works ok.
    i noticed also that when i close my client and when i restart it my username (using the name var) is in the Exclude list (Luka K.) but in this format Luka%2BK., but i only excluded my ip ... also tried without using the API variabiles and its the same...

    after i login to woopra, after couple of minutes i kicked off to main page for reconnecting and sometimes even less then minute.

    Why it is disconnecting every time ?
    same in 1.2 ver and in 1.3 rc1

    i think that there is something in server side.
    It is so boring to disconnecting after a minute everytime, and if i got a luck i can stay connected for 3 or 4 minutes.

    Whats the point to use woopra when it disconnecting you every minute ?

    By the way i think that this is great app for webmaster. Just Brilliant one !

    Just wait for payable and stable one version

  • Thank you for the specific input. Are you behind a firewall? Are you using the latest version of Java? What is your operating system? Windows Vista? XP?

    The more information you can give us, the more likely we are to figure out what's going on, as this may be impacting many people, not just use. That's part of the fun of being one of the beta testers.

    Option 'Exit when I close Woopra' does not work. Notify-icon stays active...

    I like very much color scheme of Woopra, i guess to change GA to Woopra for it =)

    i use Windows 7 Beta 7000
    Windows regular Firewall

    Nothing spacial programs that can close connections.
    Using router Level 1.
    The computer i use with woopra is connected to router by cable not wireless.

    as you sad its great and fun to be Beta tester but what tester you can be if you can't even use the program ? cant connect to it and get the whole info and check around.
    all i do is trying to connect to it and when i did i disconnecting again. if this is the beta tester trying to connect to try the program... then i don't know.

    I always Thought that beta tester is to find bugs in program and give feedback about things.

    i think you have serious problems with servers maybe too much users..

    So don't give new approves to new users if you can't handle it right now.
    because the users that realy want to try this out and give feedback's can't even connect to it to try the whole thing.

    I think that i prefer to wait for stable version and payable one.
    Cuz even beta is an Alpha.

    And i'm not talking about 1.3rc1 only. the problem is also in 1.2

    The people can't connect to service as normal how they can be beta testers ? there is no testing in it.

    Such a great software i realy hope that i'll be able use this program more stable one SOON !

    Not sure if this is a client issue or just general problem.
    I have several sites that are all registered on my client but one of them, the latest to be approved, doesn't connect at all.
    The code looks OK on the pages but not getting any connection from either the client or the web site. On the web it gets to 2 plces from the end on the orange dots and then says Disconected- re-connecting all the time. Any suggestions. The site is http://www.sarloalbums.com

    Great work this.
    I've noticed most of the bugs mentioned above plus three more (minor) ones :
    1) problem with default police (system police?) in the dropdown menu at the top left for themes - this was corrected when I changed the police.
    2) the results in analytics>overview are one day out compared with the results in the graph just above (or the other way round).
    3) popups don't show with live hits.

    I started using Woopra 1.3RC1 on Sat night. There isn't problems so far until today when I look at Analytics :

    Calendar and Analytics shows Visits : Sat 9, Sun 100, Mon 45, Tues 0, Wed 0

    1) There is NO data captured for the whole of yesterday (Tues). There were visitors cos I saw them LIVE yesterday.

    2) Alltime Visits : 186 (top left) - This is correct. ie It does include Tues vistors.

    SO strangly, Tues' data were not reflected in Analytics and Calendar but reflected in Alltime visitors.

  • As reported on @wooprastatus on twitter, there was maintenance on the servers. The data will appears in the Analytics after a short time, and the servers catch up, but the live information will not appear when the servers are offline.
