For the past 4-5 days my site has been very unstable and loading time has been awfully slow sometimes.

So I tried loading the site from FireFox to see if the status bar showed me anything.

Then I saw that it keept trying to load from "engine16.woopra.com" something like that. When I checked my index file, I saw I had the script in the index 2 times. I removed one of them, and now its going a bit better.

So I was wondering if this script could slow down your site, if engine16.woopra.com e.g wasnt working for some time ? Would the site be slow, if woopra servers are slow?

    Thanks

Try checking the script call in your website against the one in you Woopra admin panel. Also, maybe wordpress or your server could be slowing down the outbound access.

Some users on my site says the website is slow.
I have started Firebug to analyze the scripts loading on my website.
The included woopra script in the php file is loading very fast in about 76ms.
But this script loads other 12 scripts. Each of them takes about >280ms to load.

All other scripts on my site needs >100ms to load.

An other problem is some useres telling me the Firefox pops up a message there is a script with increased cpu usage.
I dont know if this is woopra or not.

Woopra isn`t slowing down a site if everythings up and ok..; it only could slow down a site if the (one of the engine*) Servers from Woopra is down like some days ago - or the script is called too often.

Here`s a german trick how to host the woopra code on your own:

    http://www.lazybrain.de/woopra-speed-up.html

If Woopra Servers are slow or gone, of course, the script tries to load and load.. but that are things, that should really don`t happen to often..

    sorry for my english.

    have a great day ;)

around 300 ms sounds like much, doesnt ? anything wrong here?

And is it normal with that woopra cookie thing ?

Anyways, I removed my code and my sites is not slow any longer.

I guess it had something to do with the woopra engine16 :/

  • Definitively Woopra slow down your website as it is now.
I hope they change it asap.
Even when their server work you are always stuck with their speed,if they are a little overload it could slow down your website.
So your website speed is related to the speed of the server.
    This isn't a good thing.
Even by using the javascript in local it's useless because the javascript file itself call other external files from the woopra servers.
So i hope they change it soon to make a non blocking call,it's not possible to go on like this.

I had issues with speed when I originally installed the Woopra software and was on a shared server. Woopra was causing errors and throwing codes and my host asked me to remove the javascript from my site.

However, when I switched to a Virtual Private Server, the problem cleared right up. The Woopra plugin and code causes no noticable burden on the server according to my host. In addition, multiple other codes that were being thrown on the site cleared up as well. My shared server was simply overloaded for the tasks I was asking it to do.

So yes, the Woopra code did have issues with me, but it was not entirely the fault of Woopra. My server simply was overloaded to begin with, and Woopra overloaded it even more. Speed has not been an issue whatsoever with the VPS.
