How long is historical data kept?

In another topic, John mentioned that Woopra only keeps a limited amount of data per site. Data storage can be very costly, and I can understand why Woopra would offer something like this as an additional cost. But I was curious as to how much data is kept by default. Thanks.

  • At the moment we are planning on retaining logs for around 90 days at no charge. That seems to me to be a pretty good time frame, since I personally rarely go back more than a month or so anyway.

We are going to make longer term storage an option later, and I'm thinking that people will be able to bump up retention to one or more years as desired.

    Thoughts?

I think that is a fair amount of time. I personally will opt for the longer term data option when it becomes available as I like to trend my own data depending on the site I am dealing with. The 3 month timetable sounds good as it coincides loosely with a lot of services like Alexa and Google's Pagerank updates. For those looking to use Woopra's stats for advertising purposes, it works.

Could be possible to export the log to some kind of file like XML or CSV... just to keep some manual and unorganized record of the activity or maybe some way to send the chat to any e-mail

Yea, that is a good idea. I posted this topic before Woopra had the export to CVS option available with the most current release.
