I would like to add an event that alerts me of only new visits. When the visitor views a new page, I don't need to see that. Could you add a way to make it trigger the event only on a new visitors first page view in a session instead of every page view?

  • Great suggestion. The problem with this, off the top of my head, is that this would alert new visitors OR visitors who cleared their cookies or changed IP addresses. We'll have to explore this further. Thanks for the suggestion.

That wouldn't be nearly as bad as having 12 popups for a single visitor in 1 minute. I could handle the lesser margin of error to just have a better idea of when a new visitor joins. Also, I don't necessarily mean new visitor, but more like new session (sessions could be considered new after 15-30 minutes and still be acceptable).

In case I have failed to say it yet, you guys have done a great job. For every problem I have or missing feature I find there are 20 other things that Woopra does great.

  • Thanks for the kind words. New sessions is something worth considering. When the API is released for public consumption, I'm sure that a lot of people will come up with innovative ways of using the custom notification. This is a great idea.

    Thanks and keep them coming!
