Woopra should make an alert appear in the system tray when a visitor visits the site

  • We'll take a look to see if that is possible, but the problem I forsee is that for people monitoring high traffic sites or multiple sites, the alert will occur so often as to become irrelevant.

Still, perhaps the icon could just flash in the system tray or something. As I say, we'll take a look.

    Thanks,

    John

  • lanieryouth: If you just wants to be notified when a visitor visits your site you can create an Event Notification on the Manage-tab.

For Low traffic people the system tray would be very good. I would very much like this feature myself. You could make it optional so people could enable or disable.
Also, I would like the alert at the top left to be bigger, then I could put other windows over woopra, but leave enough space at the top to still see the alert clearly. Thanks

    My Comment
I tried it and it works fine. Trouble is the instructions are not clear. When I first tried this feature weeks ago, I thought you had to specify IP or tags etc., but now I see that you basically leave all blank to see any or everyone. So you don't need to go further than the first page. Just give your alert a Name like "All" and click 'Apply Notification'.
Maybe Woopra can make this a bit clearer for future.
So now I don't see any urgency for the System Tray alert, although I suppose it could be an additional feature if it is not too much problem for Woopra.
Thank you Woopra for a great tool.

  • Excellent example of the custom notification feature. There are so many ways to create alerts, it's time we started exploring all the neat ways people have come up with. Thanks!
