Track pdf access by visitor

I've a website that provides the articles manuscripts, in pdf, of the work done by the group.
Is it possible to make woopra count the accesses to these pdf files. I thought that the "on click" event could be used for these.
I've also noticed that there is a "download" category in woopra GUI but I didn't find a way to correctly use it. Is there any API that can be used?

i think it will be published soon, how to use the download (pdf should work with that..) and other script stuff with woopra.. i hope, too ;)

Is there any news on this feature? I believe it works for some, and I can see the relevant code in the woopra.js file, but neither downloads nor external link clicks are being tracked for me, which is very frustrating!
