On a given day my pageviews as measured by Woopra are almost twice that of Google Analytics, which I also have running on the same site. Any idea why that might be?

googles numbers have always be drastically lower then my awstats. Meaning Woopra is about on par with awstats. Google analytics is a waist of time and is a bad representation of actual numbers.

does this mean that Woopra uses logfiles (like awstats) instead of page tagging (javascript - google analytics) to calculate pageviews?

  • Woopra uses Javascript to track pageviews.

If Google Analytics and Woopra both use Javascipt, can you explain to me why my pageview numbers are so different?

Also, I'm about to post a blog article about the performance difference, so keep an eye out.
