Hi, anyone got Woopra working on a Joomla! based website? Simply adding the script in the footer using the built in HTML editor just gives you the "var woopra_id = XXXXXXXX" text string rather than entering in the script. Didn't think that would work ;-)

I suppose (thinking as I write) that I could get the code in there by just editing the core index.php file rather than using Joomla! to add it but I was wondering if there was a more "elegant" solution (like a plug-in in the making)?

There is plugin on extensions.joomla.org or you can edit your template

    /templates/yourtemplate/index.php

add woopra code just before </body>

Thanks for that, I went down the "edit template" route.

how about creating some component with woopra for joomla? something like a frontpage visitorcounter?
i think woopre is much more precise than any other which only counts pageviews ...
    Guys you're great !

    Hi All,

I currently have the plugin for joomla, however for some reason, in the stats, it constantly shows people visiting the same page, even though I know for a fact they are visiting various different pages.

Am I the only one with this problem??

best workaround is to insert the code before your body closing tag in the index.php of your actual template.

  • I tried installing the new module and it didn't work for me. I already have the code in the template's index.php file just before the closing body tag. I get good counts for who is visiting, but the stats show all visitors went to same page each day. It's not the same page every day, but all visitors on a given day show they went to the same page in the site. I love Woopra, but this one bug is rather frustrating. I don't know if it's particular to Joomla or not.
