First off let me say that I love Woopra. This is awesome!

I installed everything yesterday on my desktop and it worked great for most of the day. Later, last night, I installed Woopra on my laptop and Woopra skipped ahead to Monday. It was probably about 8:00 - 8:30 PM EST when I installed on my laptop, but everything after that is logged as Monday stats.

This morning (Monday) the time/date in the bottom right hand corner is correct (on the desktop, I'm not opening Woopra on the laptop anymore), but all the stats are 3.5 to 4 hours ahead.

I imagine that this means we can only check our stats from one computer?? Also, is there any way to fix this without resetting everything?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks to testers like you, we're now working on this issue. The confusion over setting the GMT/UTC by users unfamiliar with such time ones were originally thought to blame, now we know otherwise. Thanks for your determination to help us understand what's going on. We're working on it!

That sounds fantastic. Am I best to just leave it alone and it'll fix itself, or will I need to take action once the problem is solved?

  • Knox,

During this beta period, you can only have one concurrent login to view stats on the Client. However, you should be able to use the Client from multiple PCs, just only one at a time.

I've not experienced the issue of clock jumping when you switch PCs. Please try again and let us know if you're still seeing this issue.

    Thanks.

Yes, I am still having the problem. I only used my laptop that one time, and it wasn't at the same time I was logged in elsewhere.

Everything seems to be working properly except that right now as it's 7:41 EST, Woopra is collecting stats for the 11:00 - 12:00 hour. I checked my time zone and it's set at -5.

Thank you for your help with this!

Also having difficulty figuring out why the time zones are off. It's currently 12:12 PM in Arizona yet Woopra is recording stats at 19:00, a full 9 hours ahead. Not sure why. So, I'm not getting an accurate calendar day representation of when people are visiting.

  • Knox, we fixed your issue. Please check it out. Your data for the next 5 hours (until 11pm CT, I think) will overwrite itself. That means, you currently have a stat for 7:00-8:00. When that block of time comes (because it's 6pm CT now), the stats for the block of time will be rewritten. Thanks for your patience.

Arretx, you may be experiencing the same issue that Knox was. Please do the following:
    1. Log into the members area and change your timezone selection to anything other than what you want it to be (which should be its current setting).
    2. Click ok.
    3. Change the timezone back to what you need it to be.

You should start to see the stats on the Dashboard change. I think I saw the top pane change first. Before the change, the time is off. After the change, the graph is showing the right time. Next, you should see the referrers and searches change with the desired time.

    Thanks.

    Hello Lorelle,

I also must admit. Woopra is one of the best web apps ever! And I wanted to thank you for all the time any effort you guys are putting into making it work properly.

I also am having the time change issue. My website settings are for eastern time, but at about 8pm (real time) the server start calculating the next days stats, although the time in the lower right corner still says the correct time. Any suggestions?

    Thanks Again,

    "O"

  • O, thanks for the feedback on Woopra. Regarding your issue, did you try my suggestion (right above your post)?

    Regards.

    Hi Lorelle...

I too am having the same problem as "O." I live in the Eastern time zone (-5). I did as you told and I have still have the same problem...it did not seem to help at all. The time is correct at the lower right and on the "live" page. However, in the "Search" and "Dashboard" the time is 4 hours ahead (instead of 7am it reads 11am).

Woopra is a fantastic program, but this is a little frustrating. Thanks for your help...

  • I'm having the same problem. Tried the suggestion of changing the time zone and then changing it back, but that didn't help.

Thanks to everyone who is working on these bugs. Keep it up.

    Hello all,

iamvi & Lorelle, thank you for your help with this. The issue has been fixed on my system. The time in the bottom right hand corner reads 11:41 AM and Total Visits & Total Pageviews on the top are displaying the 10' o'clock hour. I imagine that's correct, right?

Once again, thanks for the help, and for this wonderful product. I can't wait to delve in to all of its functionality.

Woopra is totally awesome - but time issue is still there. Being in EST (NY) I see charts at the top of the App window (tVtP, tVaV etc) 4 hours ahead. Tried all combinations of changing time, reinstalling the App etc... nothing works so far. Please fix, it is an issue of synchronizing the time with the server OR (if it is easier) rendering data based on the local time of the PC. I am open to troubleshooting and helping to test!

  • Sorry, we have some other complicating factors with the servers. However, after the servers upgrade within the next 5-7 days, this issue should be resolved. Please bear with us.

    Thanks.

I'm still having the issue after changing the time zone back and forth. Dashboard is recording 5 hours ahead and Live section is fine. Ohh just read the last post about the upgrade soon! Hopefully that will fix it. Thanks

  • All,
I should have been more descriptive. Please do try the "quick fix" I have posted above. If it works for you, great. If it doesn't, you ran into the other complication I just referred to. The only solution for that is to wait. Sorry.

    Knox,
The answer to your question is.. it depends. :)
If the above information is still correct, your website is configured at -5, which is Central Time in the US. If your Woopra client is installed on a machine that is also on CT, then you're still off. If the current time is 11:41 AM, then the graph at the top should have already provided the stats for 11AM and should be ready to wrap it up for 12PM.

We're working on an improvement to how Woopra does timezones and time synchronization. That should take care of the slight skew you have now.

I'm actually in EST (GA). Should I change the time zone now or wait for the improvement?
