Hi, Just ran the new client - looks good so far...

Apart from when I dropped it into 'Fullscreen' mode - now there are no options to get it back out! Am I missing something?

Looks good here too.
But :
the client logs itself out sometimes after a few seconds or a few minutes;
the calendar feature doesn't work (you can't choose a time span);
when I click on the red arrow in the live geographical view to expand the map, the map appears first briefly on a white page then full screen, then when I click on the red arrow again to reduce the map Woopra disappears for a second or two then re-appears;
there are one or two other things but these have already been posted previously on the forum (drill-down not working etc.).

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Keep it coming! What we're considering doing going forward is putting out periodic development builds for those who are interested in working with us as the client develops. So this is sort of a social experiment at this point.

Though I realize there have been some bugs posted previously on the forum it would help if you guys could be very specific in this thread about exactly which ones are still present in this build. Just a link to the appropriate thread would be great.

John, is there a change log avaliable for this update?

As nice as it is, I'm not seeing much change from the older version. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, or maybe all the updates are back end code updates?

Hi John and Elie...

Tried installing the update and received a message that said "This directory contains a different application. Please choose another one." I was installing into the Woopra folder in c:programs files where the older version of Woopra is. Woopra was shut down and I am using Vista sp1. I tried installing regularly and "run as administrator." Neither worked.

I got that too, Medalia.

I settled for uninstalling the old version of Woopra then installing the new one.

Thanks Jamie, uninstalling and re-installing worked. I agree, we need a changelog to see what's new. Looks pretty much the same to me (I guess the changes are "behind the scenes."

Two bugs that were in the old version and continue in this version...
1. If I tag a visitor in "live", the tag holds about 50% of the time when I go to "search." However, if I tag a visitor in "search", the tag holds when I see the visitor in "live."
2. Search for "recent tagged visitors" give me "loading...." and never finishes. Search for "recent visitors" works.

Using Vista SP1.

Guys,

We didn't include a changelog, but I'll point out some things you should notice which are different:

- This release is MUCH faster. You can click between panes and between Websites and things update about 400% quicker.
- You can see the number of live visitors on the tabs at the top of each web site. This makes it very quick and easy to see how many visitors are on each site without tabbing back and forth.
- You can add a custom image or words to the live map by going to the Manage tab.
- The map is a new option in My Visitors on the dashboard.

And most importantly... this version is now completely compatible for machines running Java 1.5! So, EVERYONE should now be able to use it! Even older Macs.

There is some more stuff, but this should give you a little to check out for now.

PS - We are aware of the tagged visitor search being broken and the guys are working on that. We'll probably get it fixed before this full release. It's one of my personal favorite features too!

I did suspect it was a little faster, but without somebody telling me I wasn't certain.

Now you've pointed out the changes, I do see them. There's so much (good) "stuff" to look at in Woopra, I tend to glance over additions like the map on the dashboard.

Note: I submitted this to the wrong category and reposted here. Sorry about that.

Only had a short time to use the 07-11-08 RC today but I believe I found a couple problems so far.

(Windows XP Pro SP3 with Java 6.0 update 7)

>>Woopra icon no longer shows up in the system tray so with "Exit when I close Woopra" unchecked then "Closing" Woopra, there's no easy way to bring the client back up since it also disappears from the "Task Bar" when "closing" (but stays running nonetheless)...you have to into the "Start" menu to bring the client back up.

In the above case, there's also no way to shutdown the client unless you manually kill the process using the Task Manager or in my case; Sysinternals, "Process Explorer".

>>Going to "Full screen" apparently leaves no way to return to a normal window or shutdown since icon no longer shows up in tray. Only way to shutdown is to hit the "Start menu" key on the keyboard (brings up the Task Bar) and right clicking on Woopra and hit "Close" or manually killing the process described above.

Love the thing so far. So much potential. Keep up the fine work!

A small bug :
accents don't show in city or country names, for instance the ü in Zürich is replaced by a box (utf8 problem?)

Looking forward to have the url parameter function available, as mentioned before.

Also if we were able to change the avartar in the chat conversation invitation.

MacOS10.5.4, Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo. After 2-3 hours running in the background, Woopra was using 70-80% of CPU, up from ~10-20 originally.

John, with the development builds a changelog would be useful. Also, have you considered doing a reporting "template" - a post with the basics of the information you require from us?
If you did something like:

OS/version:
Java version:
# sites:
etc etc
Everyone could then just copy/paste and fill in the blanks and the resulting posts may be easier for you to wade through.

I have had some problems lately with the client coming off the server - and then I have to reboot to get it back on (I'm running Vista). Otherwise it is great.

Maybe there could be a feature so the client could be minimised and provide some kind of flag 'when someone enters the trap' :-)

Without woopra I would be totally in the dark.

Just downloaded the new version and indeed you cannot go back to normal screen from the full screen mode.

Something else that I noticed is that it only lists 5 of my websites, the others have miraculously disappeared and are nowhere to be found :(

I installed Woopra today for the first time, on a Mac mini C2D, with extra memory, and using JavaSE6. After several hours, with Woopra in the foreground and background, iStatsPro reports only 2% average memory and CPU use with spikes up to 20%. The tracked site averaged about 800 pageviews per hour during that period.

Everything I've tried has worked smoothly except when I try to start a conversation, I can't type anything in the chat window. I also typed some text into TextEdit and tried to paste it in, same result. Sending the "blank" window does nothing at the target recipient's browser (I contacted them by phone).

I also did a full window expansion from the Woopra View menu on a 1680x1050 monitor and it gave me two windows, the full window and the normal window partially obscuring the fullscreen. This did not happen again after retrying a few times.

Hey guys, this beta version runs considerably faster on my old machine,
but still needs some minor adjustments.
Please consider to add a feature to remove tagged users in "analytics-tagged users".
Keep up the good work.
