    Hi all,

First I'm loving Woopra so far! I am using the Wordpress plugin. My Wordpress install is 2.5.1 and is in a subdirectory of my sites root and Woopra is recording visitors to the Wordpress portions of my site correctly as best I can tell.

My problem is this. I have a PHP based forum installed, also in a subdirectory of my main site with a link to that forum on my main Wordpress page. Woopra won't record visits to the forum pages unless I manually put the java code on the forum main page. Unfourtunatly this is making Woopra record the same user as two visitors. Once on the wordpress page and once on the forum page. The IPs are the same but the visitor IDs are different.

Any tips on making the wordpress plugin record the visits to everything on my site?

Thanks in advance for any help on this one.

  • I'll tell you why:

    - http://www.thescotchcast.com redirects to http://thescotchcast.com
    - The forum is on http://www.thescotchcast.com

Some people consider this as different domains. We will see what we can do about this.

Brilliant! Thanks Elie! I didn't even notice that. I've changed the redirect to reflect the woordpress installation a http://WWW.thescotchcast.com

We'll see if that works. Thanks again!

Well Elie it was a great idea, but it didn't seem to fix the problem. Both wordpress and forum now show as being on http://www.thescotchcast.com

I removed the manual code on the forum, and Woopra is not seeing visits to those pages now. Guess I'll have to keep trying. Thanks again!

One more follow up. I put the manual code back on the forum main page to start tracking those visits again, and now with the redirect fixed, it is now seeing the visitor in each place as the same visitor. Problem solved, but it does require BOTH the wordpress plugin and a manual code entry in different subdirectories of the same domain.

Thanks again for the shove in the right direction!
