  • The Plugin is a beta release, so only use it if you are willing to crash your blog as part of your responsibilities as a beta tester. Your input is invaluable and we understand the risks involved. Backup everything first, and know how to deactivate a WordPress Plugin without interaction with your WordPress Administration Panels. Beta testing is not for the wimpy. :D

If you are helping us test the Woopra WordPress Plugin, please see the fix offered by Shane here in the forums - http://www.woopra.com/forums/topic/woopraphp-line-21#post-4373 and if you are having trouble. Many are reporting no problems, but some are. If you are, apply the fix for now until we update, and please add to that forum post details about your setup so we can track down the problem.

If you are having a conflicts or problems with the Woopra WordPress Plugin, please let us know the error report specifics, and list the WordPress Plugins you have installed so we can see if there is a specific one that may be causing conflicts. The Woopra WordPress Plugin was reviewed by a WordPress Plugin expert, but conflicts can happen and we want to route them out.

For specifics on how to help us help you by reporting better beta testing results and bug reports, see How to Help Woopra and Woopra Members on the Forums - http://www.woopra.com/blog/2008/08/06/how-to-help-woopra-and-woopra-members-on-the-forums/ .

If you continue to have problems with the Plugin, deactivate the Plugin and add the Javascript manually as outlined in the Woopra Guide - http://www.woopra.com/installation-guide/ . Then track your stats in the desktop client version of Woopra or in the Member area of the Woopra site.

If the Woopra software is giving you problems, then exit and relaunch the program and it should work fine. As with all betas, there are still some glitches with the new release, and we're working to get those fixed and a new update released.

Thank you again for your determination to make Woopra stronger and better for everyone. And thanks for all the members who help each other resolve their issues. We are learning from your interactions as well as our interactions with you every day. Thank you so much!

I never get your links to work, Lorelle... ;)

  • If you are having problems with "Line 30" after my above fix (which you can find here (http://www.woopra.com/forums/topic/woopraphp-line-21), open up the woopra_xml.php file and remove "public/private" from all the interior functions in the class and re-upload.

  • Thanks for reminding me about the links here. We're so busy with Woopra development, we haven't gotten around to fixing that problem with HTML. SIGH.

And thanks, Shane, for the update.

While this is an awesome step forward, I can't help but wonder; is there a reason why this plugin is a wordpress-only plugin? Why only focus (or limit) this to wordpress?
I have a website, that I have built from the ground up, and implanting scripts meant for other platforms can be a pain in the ***.
So why not release a script, which suits all?

  • Woopra has a WordPress Plugin for WordPress blogs. It supports the unique database and functionality of WordPress. Check the Woopra Guide and you will see information on Joomla and other Plugins and add-ons for other blog and website platforms. As more become available, we will add them.

There is also the Woopra Javascript for everyone to use. It doesn't support the functions of the other Plugins, as they are platform specific, but it links your site to the Woopra desktop client, the preferred method of tracking web stats.

Congrats on building your site from the scratch up, something I never want to experience again myself. It's very hard work and hard to support when there are such powerful programs like WordPress that are highly flexible and have such a huge community of options and functions to choose from for free. Good luck!

To release a script that would suit EVERY website and blog possible combination would be HUGE. Platform specific streamlines the size and adds functionality specific to that platform. It's common sense, not preference one way or the other.

Wordpress can't see the new plugin. It does not appear on the plugin list so I cannotactivate it.
    What's the solution?

    Doh, premature enter.
I am on WP 2.7.1 at the moment. Can that be a problem?

Problem solved, it was MY fault, not Woopra's. Going to forget my head next.

    Posted 10 months ago #
  • LOL. WordPress 2.7.1? You're running bleeding upon blood bleeding cutting edge. I think you mean 2.6.1, right? :D

Glad you figured it out. Anyone else having conflicts with their Plugins or WordPress versions? We want to make sure the Woopra WordPress Plugin plays nice-nice with other Plugins.

    Thanks!

Hi there. Everytime I try to activate the woopra WP plugin I get a Fatal error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /nfs/c02/h04/mnt/42679/domains/christen.dybenko.net/html/wp-content/plugins/woopra_wordpress/woopra.php on line 21

    It does not activate.

Date ranges for the Analytics website option is not working. Plugin is working, and the v1.2 desktop software is not receiving anything either.

Yes, I went there first. Still not working on my Desktop or online using the actual WP plugin option for the dates. I am able to enter data, but it's not registering the data. While here, I am not able to view anything on my stats/analytics either.

Upgraded to 1.3.3 today with the WP auto upgrade on 2.6.1 and it crashed. Had a :"
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare woo_session_start() (previously declared in /woopra/trunk/woopra.php:13) in /woopra/woopra.php on line 12"

A small suggestion for change to the Wordpress plugin:

Line 1 of woopra_renderer.php should be <?php instead of just <?, in order for the plugin to work correctly on servers where short_open_tag is set to off in php.ini.
I didn't find any other places where this was the case, so it's probably the only place where it's like that.

Just upgraded to 1.3.3 automatically from WP and it says...

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare woo_session_start() (previously declared in /home/.faints/unknowndomain/unknowndomain.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/woopra/trunk/woopra.php:13) in /home/.faints/unknowndomain/unknowndomain.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/woopra/woopra.php on line 25

...and so I tried upgrading to WP 2.6.1 and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I downloaded the latest version from your site and it still says...

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare woo_session_start() (previously declared in /home/.faints/unknowndomain/unknowndomain.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/woopra/trunk/woopra.php:13) in /home/.faints/unknowndomain/unknowndomain.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/woopra/woopra.php on line 25

.. For what ever reason only woopra.php was on my server but this new version has the whole folder of files.

Upgraded to 1.3.4 and I now have no stats.

    Posted 9 months ago #
  • mokurai65, thanks for the information, however, we need more information such as which WordPress version you are using. That will help us track down your specific problem. Thank you.

I can see the stats on everyones computer in my office except mine. I really don't understand. My computer is a brand new Alienware and I can't see the stats, but I can see them on an old piece of trash computer I have in the back room.

WP 2.6.2, Woopra 1.3.4, Win XP Pro SP3
Woopra 1.2 Beta - Desktop software.

Still no stats on the WP admin area, or Search function. Stat count on Woopra 1.2 is off by a large count. Unable to change Time Zone either.

    Thanks and Happy Friday

  • Same as mokurai65 - no stats in the WP admin area. I updated to woopra wp plugin 1.3.6 but no joy. See this thread for details:
    http://www.woopra.com/forums/topic/wordpress-plugin-your-query-returned-0-results-click-here-to-retry-again
Seems that many others are experiencing this but the developers don't see it yet. (and it has been a while)
    Hope this helps!

  • The issue with no stats in the wordpress admin page has been resolved. See the end of the above thread for details (need URL file access enabled on the server).

    Thanks Elie!
