Price
Woopra offers monthly or annual payment plan options. You can mix and match Paid and Basic plans within your account, as long as they fit within the package requirements (Pageviews, Sharing, Reporting, etc). You can change your Woopra Plan at any time. Credits will be applied to the new plan.
Pageviews Monthly Limit
A Pageview occurs each time a visitor to your Website loads any page that caused the embedded Woopra JavaScript to call back to the Woopra servers in the data center. This means that HTML pages which have our tracking code in them count as a pageview, but images linked directly and not embedded in a page do not.
Woopra tracks the number of pageviews and activity on your site in the Woopra Members > Woopra Site Settings > Package, showing you the number of pageviews consumed within your monthly time period.
The ability to share pageviews between domains in a single account is not possible. Aggregating accounts is not as simple as looking at the pageviews alone. As you’ll see from all of the other variables below, each service level adds incremental usage and therefore cost onto our infrastructure.
If Woopra is no longer tracking activity on your site, please check the status of your pageview liits to ensure your site has not exceeded the package limits.
Data Retention
To keep it simple, Woopra stores two different types of data:
- Static historical data
- Current Live data
Woopra will be retaining static data indefinitely. You can see your historical stats for as long as your account remains active with Woopra.
For example, go into your Calendar panel in the Woopra Desktop Client and look way back in the past to see how many pageviews you had on a given day, week or month. This is what we are calling the static historical data.
The Current Live Data is the data reflecting real-time activity on your site, the information we are concerned with when we talk about retention. For example, when you perform a search for the “tagged” visitors to your site in order to see their recent history and click paths, it is that Live data which will be cleared out after the retention period ends. This data takes up volumes of storage space, and puts tremendous load on the systems when reports and analysis are requested.
Ads
Woopra will not place ads on your website. The “little” ads in the footer area you see in the current version of the Woopra Desktop Client are not what we are talking about when we say that the Basic (free) version of Woopra will be advertising supported. There will be much more visible advertising built into the next version of the desktop client, although we have not yet decided exactly how they will be implemented.
We’ll be looking to strike a balance between maintaining the aesthetic beauty of the application and the functional ability of the advertising.
We will be offering affiliate programs in the future, if you wish to help promote Woopra, but installation of Woopra will not put any ads or other intrusive content on your site.
Email Reports
Woopra’s had an automated email reporting platform in the lab for some time now, and thousands of you were actually subscribed to and receiving daily, weekly or monthly email reports. However, we’re not satisfied with the current state of the email reports, so we’ve taken the system off-line temporarily as we revamp it completely.
When Woopra Email Reports return, it will be re-energized and have a fresh new look and feel. Unfortunately, this is one of those features that also puts strain on the infrastructure, since our users are able to run completely custom reports on any interval and any variables they choose. So e-mail reports are only available to customers who choose one of the paid plans.
We’re working hard to keep the costs of the Woopra Email Reports low, so currently the Bronze plan is enough to allow for one daily, weekly and monthly report, so it should be a welcome addition to a real stats junkie’s daily inbox.
SSL Support
If your site has a secure area which requires that you use an SSL certificate, any of the paid plans will enable this feature.
As some of you may recall, when we first announced that we were coming out of beta we were initially only going to provide SSL support on the higher level service plans because of the cost of supporting this feature on our end. However, we heard your feedback and opened it up to all paid levels, even including Bronze.
Segmentation
Segmentation reporting is probably the most powerful, and the most underutilized feature of Woopra at this point in time.
Watching visitors LIVE in Woopra provides a fascinating perspective on your site’s traffic, as does the historical data on the basics of your site’s activites. However, the real power comes from analyzing all the data into segments, breaking down your historical data into the information you can use – actionable data.
For example, say that you want to examine the difference between visitors coming from two referrers to your site. You can go to the Dashboard panel in the Woopra Desktop Client, right click on a referrers, and select Analyze from the menu.
This opens the Analytics window with a pre-populated filter with the statistics confied to visitors arriving from only that referrer. You can perform the same action on another referrer and then examine the differences between which visitors stay on the site longer, view more pages, or other variables.
Here is an example of visitors referred from StumbleUpon.com:
With regards to the difference between limited and advanced segmentation, we plan to implement some new features that don’t currently exist. The segmentation reports that currently exist such as segmenting by URL, Referrer, Keyword, etc. will be available as part of the “limited” offering. New features such as advanced conversion tracking will be included in the “full” segmentation. When those are rolled out we’ll blog about it, and the features will appear for users on applicable plans. We have a lot of plans for this area in Woopra!
Sharing
Woopra offers the ability to share your Woopra stats with other Woopra members. The Woopra Shared Access feature can be found in Member’s Area > Sharing for each of your websites. Sharing allows you to have multiple simultaneous users logged in, and each user can save their own settings, notifications and reports separately.
To enable sharing:
- The user must have a paid account in Woopra.
- Using the email for their Woopra account, add it in the Sharing settings.
Sharing is instantaneous and each user can have as many other sites shared with them as they like, as long as the number of shares per site and plan is not exceeded.
This feature is especially useful for sharing among teams within businesses, or for contract Web developers to have access to multiple client sites without needing responsibility for the account, or having to pay the monthly fees. You can read more about it in Woopra Shared Access.
Woopra Live Chat
We continue to be surprised at the enthusiasm and various ways people use the Woopra Live Chat feature.
We’ve completely rewritten the code for the Woopra Live Chat and are currently testing it. We’re exploring many options and taking your feature requests for improving the Woopra Live Chat. Expect news on the new features soon. At that time, we will be deciding how to implement the Woopra Live Chat options into the various plans.
